We have always talked about community here and pride ourselves of helping our own.

Yeah sometimes it feels like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders but nothing you can go through can compare to what Clint Miller is facing today. He is facing his mortality and fights everyday. His wife Angela is amazing as as she faces being a single mother her strength, courage and inspiration have touched many. I can't help but cry for them..stand by them and...pray for them.

I don't think I have to go into it too much as most know Clint Miller. Yes he has the C word and everyday I think of him, his wife Angela and his beautiful children. He is one of those that fight the good fights and is so inspiring and I am asking the community to help us out...help Clint 2 have a beer with Lance Armstrong.

He longs to have a beer with Lance Armstrong and while Lance has sent Clint two videos its not the same as a face to face...we've tweeted, we've Facebooked..we've called in personal favors to friends and family who might have the pull to fulfill one of Clint's dreams...

Lance fired back with a a video but imagine what having a beer with Lance might do for Clint's spirit, Angela's spirit and their sweet sweet children. This is big...big for this family. Big for those who support and root for Clint and Family!

Why should we give up?

Please if you can do one thing send a tweet out or add a message to livestrong through facebook. If you have pull with Mr. Armstrong, please help and spread the word. We can make this happen but time is of the essence.

Saturday December 10th is Wreaths Across America Day

Wreaths Across America needs our help to reach its goal of placing 500,000 wreaths on veterans graves in 2011. The cutoff date to participate is November 28, 2011.

Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman, Morrill Worcester of the Worcester Wreath Company, in 1992.

For $15.99 you can sponsor a fresh wreath from Maine to be placed on a grave in honor or in memory of a veteran at Arlington National and over 600 other cemeteries around the country. You will receive a notification that a wreath will be placed in the name of the veteran you've designated:

"A wreath has been donated in memory of AIC Elbridge Gerry JR., United States Air Force for their Military Service by Debbie Malone to be placed on a Veterans grave in conjunction with National Wreaths Across America Day"

Since 1991, the Arlington project, had been the quiet mission of Morrill Worcester and his family. Since then the Patriot Guard Riders have escorted the wreath trucks down the East Coast and taking several days to make the trip. This allows stops at schools, monuments, veterans’ homes and communities, and gives the group an opportunity to promote their mission: Remember-Honor and Teach. This “parade” of truckers, supporters, and well-wishers has become an annual event and teaching opportunity for WAA, and a valued part of the Arlington Project.

Forest Lions Club Annual Christmas Tree Sale: November 26-December 13, 2011

2011 FOREST LIONS CHRISTMAS TREE SALE

It's that time of year again! The Forest Lions Club will hold its annual Christmas tree sale starting Saturday, November 26th at 1:00 PM. The sale is planned to run through December 13th or until the trees are sold. Last year, thanks to the vigorous support of the community, trees sold out early!!!

One hundred percent of all proceeds from the sale are returned to the community through various charitable donations including providing eye exams and glasses, yearly vocational scholarships, food baskets for the needy and support of the Forest Youth Athletic Association.

Three hundred trees including 6 to 10 feet Fraser firs and a limited number of 6 to 8 foot white pines will be on sale during this period.

Trees will be on sale from 2:00 to 7:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturdays and from 1:00 to 7:00 PM on Sundays.

The Lions’ tree lot is located adjacent to Benjamin’s Restaurant, 14900 Forest Road (Virginia Rt.221) and Backyard Outfitters (a building sales business), across from Kroger.

UPDATE: TOBY HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS OWNER!

My name is Tobie and I'm a nice West Highland White Terrier. I went out for a walk on Cottontown Rd in Forest, VA on Saturday November 5 and a kind lady picked me up so I wouldn't get hit by a car. I had a great weekend: went to doggie daycare, had a bath and my nails were clipped. I'm having a sleepover with two other terriers until I can get home.

I'm really friendly but so far no one seems to know where I live. I have a name tag with phone numbers that aren't in service. I'm on facebook, craigslist and the Bedford Humane Society's website. Westie Rescue will be coming to pick me up soon. If you know who my people are, would you tell them I'm ready to come home now? -Thanks, Tobie

How to fix your Hacked Facebook Profile

I had this happen to me last week....if you've been receiving inappropriate messages, photo's or IM's from Facebook, this should help.Thank you Mike Mueller for an easy to follow Facebook fix!

Your Facebook Profile has been hacked? It’s tagging pictures of all your friends or perhaps something worse? No worries – let’s fix it. The culprit is probably a 3rd party App.

Even if you haven’t been hacked every once in a while it’s always a good idea to go into the Facebook Apps section and remind yourself of the Apps you’ve given access to over time. That seems reasonable right? The problem most people have no idea how to find them.

Here’s the easiest way. If you are logged in to your account simply go here:

http://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=applications

That link works for you, and it works for me. It takes you directly to the Apps you’ve added and have long since forgotten about.

IF YOU’VE BEEN HACKED:

Go ahead and delete every 3rd party app. Don’t worry, don’t think, just delete them all. Chances are it was just one of these that is causing the problem. Now go change your login password. In theory, everything should be back to normal again. Now you can start adding “trusted” Apps back in.

IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN HACKED:

It’s still a good idea to review the Apps and remove the ones you’ve rarely used. Scroll to the bottom and start there. If you don’t recognize an App I would guess it’s safe to remove it.

Now that you know this – the best thing you could do is share it with all your friends! (hint, hint)

The Forest Lions Club is once again planning for its annual $10,000 raffle. This year’s event will be held Friday, May 6^th at the Forest Recreation Center. The evening will begin at 6:00 P.M. with dinner at 7:00 PM.

Raffle tickets with dinner and an open bar are $100 each. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $35.

As in the past, this will be a reverse raffle with all 250 numbers called. The final 10 ticket holders will have the option of splitting the proceeds or remaining in the running for a chance at the full $10,000. Funds raised will go toward the building of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department.
