The Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the first major battle between the American colonists and British soldiers. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775 in Charlestown, Boston, MA. On the Freedom Trail, Bunker Hill Monument is 221 feet tall and made of granite. Operated by the National Parks Service, admission is free.






Hi Debbie... America has much history to reflect upon. Monuments remind us.... for those who do not know or have forgotten their lessons in school.
Debbie, I used to work right near the Bunker Hill Monument. I would spend my lunch hours walking through the historic streets of Charlestown taking photos of all the old houses. Your post brings back good memories! -Marian
