Lucky Me- Mom had a gift certificate to Lil Cucci's and she took me there for lunch. I love this Italian Restaurant in Forest, Virginia. Lil’ Cucci’s is owned by Maurizio and Shari Cucci and has a great family atmosphere. Not only are you greeted by Maurizio when you enter the restaurant, he calls you by name.

Located in the Forest Square Shopping Center, Lil Cucci's does a brisk business so you may have to wait for a seat but it's worth it. The food is awesome- we had the Lil Cucci's Special Calzone which was stuffed with pepperoni, peppers, onions, cheese and a whole lot of yum. Lil’ Cucci’s offers great pizza’s (my favorite is the veggie), appetizers, calzones, salads; dinners including spaghetti, lasagna, chicken & eggplant parmigiana; cheesecake & cannoli and a children’s menu. Volunteers are needed for this years Annual Take Pride in Smith Mountain Lake Cleanup Day at Smith Mountain Lake.  This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, have fun and give back to the community.

The 22nd annual clean up day is a joint effort of the Smith Mountain Lake Association, Tri-County Lake Administrative Committee and the SML Chamber of Commerce. The entire community can get involved in cleaning up the lake and shore to keep it safe for boating and water sports this upcoming season. We had our dock dredged this summer and were surpised at the amount of logs, limbs and debris we pulled out of our cove after the job was done!

Bob Camicia is the chairperson of the event and president of SMLA. He is also looking for volunteers to head the various committees needed to run the daylong event which costs between $8,000-10,000. Corporate sponsors fund the event but volunteers are needed. Last year approximately 1,000 volunteers pulled 55 tons of trash and logs out of the lake.

Committees include finance, marketing, fundraising, advertising, food, operations, packaging and publicity. The committee chairs will meet monthly til March and then weekly until May 2.

Volunteers who sign up to clean the lake will receive a gift bag with a T-shirt, gloves and other items. For more information, call the Smith Mountain Lake Visitor Center at 540.721.1203 or email:
